No South Town TIF funds for the hotel deal

Updating the contract language on the Pere Marquette Hotel hit a different community chord in last night’s Peoria City Council Meeting. The project that is to be paid for in-part by bonds supported by taxpayers’ money is being delayed another month in an effort to complete the paperwork and real estate transactions. But last night the council was also considering moving proceeds from the South Town TIF District to the adjacent Hospitality Improvement Zone that includes the historic downtown hotel.
